For sale. SOLD
The design is heavily influenced by my interest in Japanese art and design. The shape inspiration is derived from Shinto Torri Gates. The surface is roughly decorated in layers of white crackle and copper matte glaze. There is a stark contrast between the white and the multi-coloured copper matte surfaces. The glaze surfaces are un-perfect to reflect time and decay, I allow some of the glaze to be applied very thickly which encourages it to crawl in places. The vase is Raku fired in a gas kiln then reduced in sawdust and newspaper.
Size: Height 22cm (8.5″), Width 16cm (6 1/4″), Length 30cm (11 3/4″)
Weight: 3.8Kg (8lb 6oz)

Lidded Pots – These vary in size up to about 9 cm diameter and are made from white stoneware clay fired to 1260 degrees Celsius which makes them very strong. The rim is unglazed as they are fired with the lid on to prevent warping. Various colours and sizes are available and I can also make to order. Perfect for keepsakes, ring boxes and other nice things!

MUGS – I have various styles available, see the online shop for current stock. Happy to do a limited run as a commission of up to 6 mugs, bowls etc.
